Relaxed Performances

Relaxed Performance for Laser Beak Man, Friday 13 September, 11am

Relaxed Performances are for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment – this can include but is not limited to people with autism, sensory sensitivities, learning disabilities, dementia as well as those living with anxiety or who have experienced trauma.

We focus on relaxing - or adapting - the theatre environment and preparing the audience by developing pre-show resources. During these performances, there is a relaxed attitude to noise, doors remain open and lights while dimmed remain on throughout the performance. You can leave the auditorium to take a break and a designated quiet area is available.

This relaxed performance will include:

  • A briefing prior to the commencement of the performance, (10.30am), to talk through any potential triggers
  • No smoke, haze or strobe lighting
  • A reduction in sound levels
  • Inclusion of warning signs from the onstage puppeteers for louder noises
  • Patrons are welcome to bring along sunglasses for those who wish to wear them
  • The Studio auditorium lights will be on 20-30% so audiences can come and go easily
  • Patrons are welcome to relax in the foyer should they need to leave the performance
